Reflect-understand-learn.............

Food for thought as you examine your behaviors and actions,  make adjustments and alter your future.

“Discovering Reflective Practice
Dewey (1933) identified the three characteristics or attitudes of people who are reflective as; open-mindedness, responsibility and wholeheartedness.
At a basic level models of reflection exist to provide guidance to help us look back over events that have happened and to turn them into learning experiences.
In essence models of reflection help us to:

Look at an event - Understand it - Learn from it”

Blogging and dental hygiene

The art of reflection is not intuitive but the process takes learning to a deeper level of understanding.  http://www.intime.uni.edu/model/learning/refl.html  Reflection also takes practice.  The more you write, the better you will become and you will begin to identify professional growth.  Don't get frustrated, make it your own space.  Reflect in an authentic voice, don't write what you think "I" want to hear, this about "your" learning process.  I encourage you to read other blogs, some for fun and some to enhance your knowledge, http://www.bloggingpro.com/archives/2010/09/17/10-ways-blogging-is-like-dental-hygiene/

I look forward to reading and learning together,

Welcome

Hello class,
If you are reading this post, you are on your way to blogging.  Use this space to share ideas, thoughts, news, links, video and pictures with classmates and possibly other professionals in the field of dentistry. This space allows everyone an equal voice in the conversation.  Use the blog to enhance your learning and take it beyond the walls of the classroom.
I hope this contributes to your process of being a self-directed,  life-long learner.
